Léo in Nagano, Japan January 09

We arrived in Japan on New Years Eve. Léo was such a trooper on the plane... After our lovely New Year's meal with the family, we headed off to Nagano, in the mountains for some snowy, cozy time with Makoto, Yoshiko, Reiko, Aaron, and the three of us. We went skiing, went to the hot springs nightly (Léo got to love it after three nights), and ate lots of good food! Léo just started on solids!

In Katase, Léo learned to sit up very well, listened to grandpa play cello, papa play guitar, mama play shakuhachi and flute, and met many family and friends. He especially loved spending time with his grandpa and grandma, his auntie Reiko and uncle Aaron! We took a few trips to Tokyo, where he got to see real sumo matches, and got to have some of the best sushi (through mama, of course) in town!
